Unwanted Hair

Hypertrichosis

Hypertrichosis, commonly known as excessive hair growth, can affect any part of the body. It is typically identified by comparing the individual’s hair growth to that of others of the same age, sex, and ethnic background.

Hirsutism

Hirsutism refers to androgen-induced excessive growth of thick, dark hair in women. Unlike hypertrichosis, hirsutism involves a male-pattern distribution of hair on women, commonly appearing on the sideburns, chin, neck, face, and torso. This condition is caused by elevated levels of androgens (male hormones). While it is medically harmless, it can present cosmetic concerns for many women.

we offer treatments for both types of excessive hair growth. By identifying the underlying cause and differentiating between hypertrichosis and hirsutism, we create customized treatment plans to address both the root cause and the external appearance.
